17-hour long CASO ends in Zakura, no militant found

Srinagar, Apr 07, : About 17-hour long Cordon and Search Operation (CASO), which was launched by security forces in Gulab Bagh, Zakura area of Kashmir capital Srinagar on Tuesday night ended on a peaceful note on Wednesday afternoon after no militant was found in the area.

Sources told News Agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) that troops of J&K Police, CRPF and Valley QAT launched a CASO on Tuesday night in Gulab Bagh locality of Srinagar city following specific inputs about presence of militants in the area.

Additional security forces were rushed to further seal all entry and exit points.

However, in the morning forces fired some warning shots towards the building in which they were suspecting the presence of militants but no response was given from inside the house.

They said that operation was called off this afternoon after no militant was found. (KDC)
