Massive protests in Anantnag after woman allegedly set ablaze by in-laws

 

Anantnag, Mar 26 (UNI) Massive protests erupted in a village in this south Kashmir district after a woman was allegedly set ablaze by her in-laws on Thursday, official sources said.
The injured who had received serious burn injuries and admitted in Srinagar hospital alleged that she was set on fire by in-laws.

Hundreds of people, including women, hit the streets after a 28-year-old woman, mother of two children, was allegedly set on fire by her in laws at village Akoora Mattan in Anantnag. However, she was rushed to District Hospital, Anantnag, from where she was referred to Srinagar in a critical condition. She alleged that she was set ablaze by her in laws who were torturing her almost daily. She named a number  persons.

The agitators demanded immediate arrest of the all person named by the woman who is struggling for life on the bed in Srinagar hospital.

Meanwhile, a case under FIR number 15/2021 has been registered at Police Station and investigation has been taken up.
