Rajnath, Shah extend raising day greetings to Assam Rifles

 

 

New Delhi, Mar 24 :  Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday extended their greetings to the Assam Rifles on their on 186th Raising Day.

The Defence Minister said that the Assam Rifles, which is India’s oldest paramilitary force, has been at the forefront of keeping India safe for nearly 19 decades. “The courage and professionalism of this force are deeply appreciated,” Mr Singh tweeted.

Mr Shah, in his greetings to the coveted paramilitary force, said the Assam Rifles is the sentinels of the Northeast and India’s oldest paramilitary force with a rich history of valour and courage. “We salute their devotion towards protecting our motherland,” he added.

Bharatiya Janata Party president Jagat Prakash Nadda too saluted Assam Rifles’ unwavering devotion for the safety and security of India.
