Sensex down over 200 pts

 

 

Mumbai, Mar 22 :  The BSE Sensex fell on Monday by 289 points to 49,568.31 as selling was seen in Energy, Finance, Telecom, Auto and Bankex stocks.
The Nifty also declined by 63.20 points to 14,680.80.
The Sensex registered the intra days high and low at 49,878.77 and 49,427.29 points respectively.
The Nifty registered the intra days high and low at 14,763.90 and 14,641.55 respectively.
The Mid Cap rose by 0.67 per cent and Small Cap by 0.57 per cent.
In 30 scrips 13 advanced while 17 declined.
The losers were Indusind Bank by 2.97 per cent to Rs 981.75, Powergrid by 2.11 per cent to Rs 225.50, Reliance industries by 1.95 per cent to Rs 2041.45 and HDFC Bank by 1.43 per cent to Rs 1475.70.
The gainers were Tech Mahindra by 1.50 per cent to Rs 1004.10, Dr Reddy by 1.38 per cent to Rs 4333.75, NTPC by 0.83 per cent to Rs 109.40 and Kotak Bank by 0.64 per cent to Rs 1842.30.
