Assembly Poll : PM to undertake election campign in Pondy on Mar 30

 

 

 

Puducherry, Mar 20:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi will undertake an election campaign here on March 30 for the April 6 Assembly poll.

BJP Puducherry Unit Vice-President Embalom Selvam told news persons here on Saturday that Mr Modi will address a public meeting at the AFT ground at 5 PM on that day in support of the NDA candidates in the UT.

It may be noted that the BJP is contesting the election in alliance with the N R Congress and AIADMK.

Mr Selvam said that Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari will visit Puducherry on March 22 and he will address the party workers.

He said Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will visit Puducherry on Monday and she will release the party’s election manifesto.

Film actress Gouthami will undertake electioneering in Mannadipet and Lawspet constituencies where the BJP candidates are contesting, in an open jeep on Sunday.

It may be noted that Mr Modi and BJP National President J P Nadda had visited Puducherry earlier and addressed election meetings while, Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited Karaikal region and addressed a public meeting there.
