No need to panic over Covid cases: Maha Health minister

Mumbai,Mar 18:  Maharashtra state health minister Rajesh Tope said that, despite the increase in the number of Covid positive patients there is no need to panic.

Mr Tope talking to media on Wednesday evening in Mumbai said that , the number of RTPCR tests in Maharashtra was higher than other states and the aim was to vaccinate 17 million people in the state.

One 1880 vaccination centers have been sanctioned in the state, out of which 33,65,952 people have been vaccinated so far.

1.70 crore people need to be vaccinated, for which 2.20 crore doses of Covid vaccine are required, Tope added.

However ,Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar. Javadekar tweeted that ,Out of 54 lakh doses of vaccine in Maharashtra, only 23 lakh doses have been used so far and 56 per cent vaccines have not been used yet,

Javadekar tweets came after the Shiv Sena demanded more vaccines for the state.

It may noted that the Maharashtra state one of worst affected become hot pot of Covid cases as more than 23000 cased were detected on Wednesday which is highest so far .

Meanwhile, respective districts Administration has already starts to take numbers of preventive and strict measures to break the chain on the pandemic .
