Mumbai, Mar 12 : The BSE Sensex remained strong on Friday too, as it advanced by 381 pts to open at 51,660.98 on the strength of Industrials, IT, Telecom and Utilities stocks.
The Nifty too rose by 99 pts to 15,274.60.
The Sensex registered intra days high and low at 51,821.84 and 51,640.42 pts respectively.
The Nifty registered intra days high and low at 15,336.30 and 15,268.50 respectively.
In 30 scrips, 22 advanced while 8 declined.
The gainers were L& T by 2.43 pc to Rs 1561.15, HDFC Bank by 1.76 pc to Rs 1583.20, Powergrid by 1.49 pc to Rs 218.30 and ONGC by 1.31 pc to Rs 115.95.
The losers were Bajaj Auto by 1.54 pc to Rs 3815.40, Sun Pharma by 0.77 pc to Rs 621.15, Dr Reddy by 0.75 pc to Rs 4465 and Maruti Suzuki by 0.71 pc to Rs 7222.65.
