Kulgam police arrests drug peddler; Contraband substance recovered

 

Kulgam March 12 : District Police Kulgam sustained its continuous and unwavering efforts to eradicate the menace of Drugs from the society.

During Naka checking at DH Pora established by Police party of Police Station DH Pora led by SHO DH Pora Insp. Tanveer Ahmad under the supervision of SDPO DH Pora Shri. Aashiq Hussain-JKPS, a Scooty bearing registration number PB08BV-2027 was stopped. During checking, officers were able to recover 50 Grams of Charas like substance from the possession of person whose identity was ascertained as Showkat Ahmad Ganie S/O Abdul Ahad Ganie resident of Chimmer. He was arrested and Scooty used for commission of crime was seized.

Regarding the incident, Case FIR No. 20/2021 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station D H Pora and further investigation into the matter has been initiated.

Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
