2 corona deaths, 73 fresh covid-19 cases in J&K

Srinagar, March 12 : Twenty-three travellers were among 73 fresh covid-19 cases reported in Jammu and Kashmir even as two persons succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours, officials said on Friday.

Among the fresh cases, 14 were from Jammu Division and 59 from Kashmir Valley, taking the total tally to 127436.

Among the fresh cases, the officials told GNS that Srinagar reported 34 cases, Baramulla 10, Budgam 5, Pulwama 2, Kupwara 3, Anantnag 3, Bandipora 0, Ganderbal 1, Kulgam 0, Shopian 1, Jammu 9, Udhampur 1, Rajouri 1, Doda 0, Kathua 0, Samba 0, Kishtwar 0, Poonch 3, Ramban 0 and Reasi 0.

Moreover, they said, 80 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals—six from Jammu Division and 74 from Kashmir Valley.

Regarding the fresh deaths, they said, both were reported from Kashmir Valley, overall toll in J&K to 1971—729 in Jammu and 1242 in Valley. There are 887 active cases—190 in Jammu and 697 in Kashmir. So far 124578 have recovered—51251 in Jammu and 73327 in Kashmir. (GNS)
