COVID-19: Marathwada registers 1,037 new cases

Aurangabad, Mar 9:  The eight districts of Marathwada region reported 1,037 fresh cases of COVID-19 during the past 24 hours, informed health authorities on Tuesday.

The region also reported 13 more deaths due to coronavirus during the same period.

Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI shows that out of the eight districts of the region Aurangabad district was worst affected as it recorded 388 cases and four deaths followed by Parbhani which recorded 19 new cases and three deaths, Latur registered 111 new cases and two deaths, Jalna recorded 172 cases and a single death, Beed registered 74 cases, Hingoli registered 34 new cases and single death, Osmanabad registered 16 cases and a single death and Nanded had 208 cases.

As per official data, 8,744 fresh COVID-19 patients and 22 more deaths were reported in the state, taking the state’s cumulative tally to 22,28,471 and the death toll to 52,500.

On the other hand, 9,068 patients were discharged during the day across the state, taking the overall count of recoveries to 20,77,122.

There are currently 97,637 active cases in the state that are undergoing treatment.

The recovery rate in the state currently stands at 93.21 per cent confirmed sources in the Health Department.
