Sensex zooms 1305.33 points during week

Mumbai, Mar 6:  The Sensex Surged by 1,305.33 points or 2.66 pc to settle at 50.405.32 in the week under review as value buying emerged after India’s GDP returned to positive territory after contracting for two straight quarters.

Stabilizing US Treasury yields, hopes surrounding global COVID-19 vaccination programmes boosted investors sentiments.

The Nifty 50 index soared 408.95 points or 2.81 pc to settle at 14,938.10.

The BSE Mid-Cap index rose 609.15 or 3.05 pc to settle at 20,587.80. The BSE Small-Cap index jumped 780.67 points or 3.87 pc to settle at 20,936.02.

On Monday the Sensex surged 749.85 points to settle at 49,849.84. Nifty also advanced 232.40 points to settle at 14,761.55.

On Tuesday the Sensex climbed 447.05 points to settle at 50,296.89.Nifty surged 157.55 points to settle at 14,919.10.

On Wednesday, the Sensex, jumped 1,147.76 points to settle at 51,444.65. Nifty too soared 326.50 points to settle at 15,245.60.

On Thursday after rising for three consecutive sessions. Sensex, lost 598.57 points to settle at 50,846.08. Nifty too declined 164.85 points to settle at 15,080.75.

On Friday the Sensex, tumbled 440.76 points to settle at 50,405.32.Nifty slumped 142.65 points to settle at 14,938.10.
