Sensex down 600 pts

Mumbai, Mar 4 : The BSE Sensex on Thursday dropped by 600 pts to 50,844.12 on profit-booking by local operators.
The Nifty fell by 179 pts to 15,066.50.
The Sensex registered intra days high and low at 50,957.29 and 50,539.92 pts respectively.
The Nifty registered intra days high and low at 15,101.05 and 14,980.20 respectively.
In 30 scrips 9 advanced while 21 declined.
The losers were HDFC by 2.60 pc to Rs 2583.95, HDFC Bank by 2.47 pc to Rs 1547.25 and L& T by 2.16 pc to Rs 1464.35.
The gainers were Titan by 0.72 pc to Rs 1485, Sun Pharma by 0.52 pc to Rs 627.40, Ultracemco by 0.47 pc to Rs 6530 and ONGC by 0.44 pc to Rs 114.45.
