Stalin turns 69, to unveil 10-year vision document at Trichy on Mar 7

Chennai, Mar 1: DMK President M K Stalin turned 69
on Monday.
Mr Stalin, accompanied by senior party leaders, paid
floral tributes at the memorials of late Chief Ministers
C N Annadurai and M Karunanidi on the Marin beach
front to mark the occasion.
He later visited the Periyar Thidal and paid tributes
at the memorial of Rationalist leader Periyar.
Later, he visited Mr Karunanidhi’s Gopalapuram residence
and paid floral tributes to his portrait and also sought the
blessings of his mother Dayalu Ammal.
Leaders of DMK’s alliance parties, besides Makkal Neethi
Maiyam and actor-politician Kamal Haasan extended their
birthday greetings to Mr Stalin,
Later, talking to reporters he claimed that the much
expected change of guard would take place in two
months (after the April six Assembly elections).
He said seat sharing talks have been initiated with the
alliance partners and the work on drafting the DMK’s
manifesto for the polls were also on.
He said the DMK would hold a massive conference
in Tiruchy on March seven in which he would unveil his
ten-year vision document for the State to make Tamil
Nadu, the number one in all spheres in the next ten
years.
Mr Stalin said the long term vision document was being
prepared based on his visit to various parts of the state
and based on the feedback he had received from the
people and the experts.
Asked what is his birthday message for the people of
the State, he said people should take a vow to defeat
the ruling AIADMK in the elections.
