42000 candidates appear in JKSSB examination for Class IV posts in Srinagar

SRINAGAR, MARCH 01: Some 42 thousand candidates sat in the J&K Service Selection Board examination for Class IV posts in Srinagar where the administration had put in place exhaustive arrangements to ensure smooth conduct.

The examination was held in three phases on 27 and 28 February and 1 March and saw an overall candidate attendance of 78 percent of the total of around 54000 candidates allotted to Srinagar.

Exhaustive arrangements had been put in place at all 38 centres where the examination was held in the district. The arrangements covered all aspects from comfort to security to safety against coronavirus.

Coordinated efforts of concerned agencies involved in the effort ensured smooth and fair conduct of the examination.

To ensure as-per-plan conduct of the exam the Srinagar district administration had deployed one duty magistrate and one observer at each of the 38 exam centres in the district. This was in addition to the centre superintendents and invigilators supervising the conduct of the exam at each centre.

The proceedings of the examination were recorded in a video camera at each centre to ensure fairness.

Senior Superintendents of Police Srinagar, Security and Traffic had made thorough arrangements pertaining to their respective domains which enabled smooth and hassle-free conduct of the exam.

In view of the coronavirus pandemic each examination centre had been sanitised prior to use and had a dedicated health team available for emergencies during the course of the examination.

Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary commended the Additional Deputy Commissioners Khurshid Ahmad Shah and Syed Haneef Balkhi for their brilliant supervision which helped ensure that the three-phase examination was held in a smooth and comfortable manner in the district.

It is notable that the government had deployed Mr Shah as District Observer for the examination in Srinagar. Mr Balkhi on the other hand had been tasked with overall inter-agencies coordination efforts.
