Telangana reports 178 fresh COVID-19 cases, one fatality until Friday night

Hyderabad, Feb 27:  Telangana’s COVID-19 tally of cases rose to 2,98,631 so far with 178 new Coronavirus cases being reported until 2000 hours on Friday.
One patient lost life to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours taking the overall fatalities till date to 1,633 translating a case fatality rate of 0,54 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.4 per cent, according to a state health department bulletin here on Saturday.
As many as 148 people have recovered from Coronavirus statewide during the last 24 hours taking the total number of recoveries thus far to 2,95,059 constituting a recovery rate of 98.80 per cent while the National recovery rate was 97.1 per cent.
The number of active cases in the state currently stand at 1,939 including 850 individuals in home or institutional isolation, the bulletin said.
As of Friday, 40,821 swab samples have been tested in the state to detect the contagious virus and out of which the reports of 684 swab samples are awaited.
Since the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic, more than 86.59 lakh COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) continued to be the main contributor of the Coronavirus which reported 30 new cases followed by Medchal Malkajigiri district (20), and Ranga Reddy district (15) and Karimnagar district (10).
The remaining COVID-19 fresh cases were reported by other districts, the bulletin added.
