DC Ganderbal presides over culmination function on 32nd Road Safety Month 2021 

Ganderbal, FEB 19: Motor Vehicle Department, Ganderbal today organized a culmination function of month long 32nd Road Safety Month 2021, at Conference Hall Mini Secretariat Ganderbal which was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal.

 

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the importance of holding month long awareness on road safety and traffic rules. He stressed upon the general public, especially youth to strictly follow the road safety measures and ensure their safety when they are on roads so that precious lives are saved. Highlighting the importance of following traffic rules, he said district Administration is ensuring all possible efforts of road safety measures in the district to curb the loss of lives in road accidents adding that awareness programs on road safety and traffic rules shall continue at regular intervals across the district.

 

Pertinently, during month long campaign the Motor Vehicle Department, Ganderbal has organized number of programs viz- medical checkup of drivers, quiz competition, painting competition, distribution of pamphlets, blood donation camp, fitness mela, etc. to spread the awareness regarding road safety among general public, transporters and driver community of the district.

 

Meanwhile, on the occasion MVD, Ganderbal had also organized a painting competition in which students of various schools of district participated.

 

Later, the Deputy Commissioner distributed awards among the winners of painting competition and best performers who participated in the month long program.

 

The live streaming of LG’s speech was facilitated by the district Administration during the function.

 

SSP Ganderbal, Khalil Poswal, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Farooq Ahmed Baba, ARTO Ganderbal, District Information Officer, Ganderbal, Presidents of various transport unions, Drivers, and Students of different schools attended the function.
