DDC Ganderbal reviews functioning of RDD

GANDERBAL,The District Development Commissioner (DDC), Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal, today chaired a meeting of Rural Development Department (RDD) to review its functioning and progress made under various flagship programmes.

At the outset, the DDC sought the details regarding utilization of SBM funds, completion of Panchayat Ghars, Geo tagging of assets, completion of CSCs, Aadhar seeding of job card holders besides status of timely payment of wages.

On the occasion the ACD briefed the chair through a powerpoint presentation regarding functioning of the department besides physical and financial achievements made under different schemes including SBM, MGNREGA, 14thFC, Back to Village, Aadhar seeding, payment of wages, geo-tagging of works, PMAY-G, CD & Panchayat, construction of Panchayat Bhawan under RGSY, progress under CSC and IWMP.

While reviewing the progress on completion of Panchayat Ghars and CSCs in the district, the ACD informed the meeting that several works have been completed besides work on various Panchayat Ghars is under various stages of completion.

The DDC reviewed Block performance made under various schemes and directed for completion of all pending works within the current financial year. He warned of any laxity and asked the concerned to work with a pro-active and people friendly approach.

While reviewing MGNREGA, the meeting was informed that the 98 percent expenditure is achieved against the total funds released till date besides 95 percent person days is also achieved up to February 15, 2021.

Regarding timely payment of wages, it was informed that 40.41 percent target is achieved as on date for which the DDC directed the concerned to accelerate the progress so that workers are paid their wages in time.

While discussing Geo tagging of assets, the meeting was informed that 99.93 percent assets are geo-tagged. Similarly, regarding Aadhar seeding of workers it was informed that 80 percent target is achieved for which DDC directed the ACD to ensure cent percent target is achieved within this week.

Meanwhile the DDC also reviewed sector wise achievement under IWMP in the district,

During the meeting, the DDC impressed upon BDOs and executing agencies to accelerate the pace of work in their respective areas by adopting innovative methods for effective implementation of schemes at the ground level.

The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Ganderbal, Chief Planning Officer, Executive Engineer REW Ganderbal, BDOs, AEEs/AEs/JEs of the department besides panchayat inspectors.
