PRIs are the focal point of development in district

Performance of officers hailed by Sarpanch Association Ganderbal

 GANDERBAL, FEBRUARY 08: The Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal today said that the Panchayat Raj Institutions are the focal point at the district level with regard to holistic development of the area.

He said this during the Sarpanch conference organized by Sarpanch Association Ganderbal in collaboration with District Administration held in the lawns of Mini Secretariat Ganderbal.

While highlighting the role of the PRIs, the DDC said that they play vital role in plan formulation for economic development and social Justice.

The DC also urged the Sarpanchs to make efforts for creating durable assets of public importance besides proper monitoring of all the schemes being implemented in their respective jurisdictions and also bring into the notice of district Administration if any issue impeding the progress of their areas so that necessary measures as per needs are to be taken to resolve their issues within shortest possible time to mitigate the problems of common masses.

During the conference several Sarpanchs also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the role of PRIs in development of villages as per the needs of the people.

Later the Sarpanchs Association felicitated several officers and officials of District Administration for their work for strengthening the grassroot level institutions.

The Conference was attended by the ADC Ganderbal Farooq Ahmad Baba, SDM Kangan, ACR Ganderbal, CPO Ganderbal, DPO Srinagar besides other district officers.
