Body recovered under mysterious circumstances in Pulwama

Srinagar, Feb 3 (UNI) Panic gripped in a village in Pulwama in south Kashmir when a body was found under mysterious circumstances on Wednesday morning, official sources said.

They said villagers at Naunagri in Pulwama found a body of an unidentified person this morning in the area. However, police was immediately informed, they said adding the body was taken away by police for identification.

Later the deceased was identified as Shakeel Ahmad , resident of Hazratbal Srinagar. The cause of his death was being ascertained.

It was not immediately clear how Shakeel, a mentally challenged person, had reached Pulwama.

Police has registered a case and initiated proceedings, they said adding the body of the deceased will be handed over to his relatives after medical and legal formalities.
