IAF airlifts 37 passengers of border town of Kargil

Srinagar, Jan 14 (UNI) As many as 37 passengers, including two patients, availed the services of Kargil Courier Service, provided by Indian Air Force (IAF), on Thursday in view of closure of 434-km-long Srinagar-Leh national highway since January 1.

Chief Coordinator, AN-32 Kargil Courier Service Aamir Ali said that 20 passengers availed the service from Srinagar to Kargil. ”17 passengers from Kargil were airlifted to Srinagar, including two patients,” he said.

He said the patients had to be carried to Kargil Airport in an ambulance and were provided an ambulance at Srinagar Airport by Chief Medical Officer, Srinagar. ”For January 15, AN-32 Kargil Courier sorties have been planned between Kargil and Jammu. Passengers have been requested to contact the concerned Liaison Officers,” he added.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) on Wednesday airlifted 75 passengers of border town of Kargil in Union Territory (UT) of Ladakh.
