COVID vaccination dry run begins in 125 districts

New Delhi, Jan 2 (UNI) Dry run of the COVID-19 vaccination drive began on Saturday morning across 125 districts, 285 places across the nation to identify the problems and other aspects related to the vaccination campaign.

Meanwhile, Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan personally reviewed the dry run of the vaccine at the GTB hospital here, this morning.

The government, after the success of dry run of the vaccination drive conducted in four states, had announced for the conducting the same across all states and UTs.

Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry on Saturday said that as per the central government’s directive, all the states and union territories have been fully prepared for the dry run of the corona vaccine.

During the dry run, the entire procedures related to the vaccination campaign are followed.

The exercise will also help bring out the results as to how the CO-VIN app would work in the actual situation along with problems that could arise in the vaccination campaign.

The first phase of dry run in the country was conducted on December 28 and 29 in Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Gujarat and Punjab.
