Mumbai Police files C summary in ‘Free Kashmir’ poster case

Mumbai, Dec 29 : The Mumbai Police has filed C Summary report in the case registered against Mahek Mirza Prabhu for allegedly showing the ‘Free Kashmir’ poster during an anti-CAA protest at the Gateway of India earlier this year.
The report was field in a local court which adjourned the hearing till further order.
A C Summary is filed when the case is neither true or false, or when the criminal case was filed due to a mistake of facts or the offence complained about is of a civil nature.
Back then, the BJP had strongly objected to the poster and demanded immediate inquiry in the matter.
The party even blamed the present ruling government of Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress for the same.
Defending Mahek, Shiv Sena’s leader Aaditya Thackeray and Sanjay Raut had said that the woman may have asked for freedom from internet and mobile shutdown in the Valley for the last several months.
As the matter escalated, Mahek released a video message in which she said the placard was only to protest against the lockdown in Kashmir and added that there was no other motive behind her actions.
