Eight people killed in a road mishap in UP

Sambhal, Dec 16 (UNI) At least eight people were killed when an Uttar Pradesh government bus collided with a gas tanker near Manakpur village under Dhanari police station on Agra-Moradabad highway here on Wednesday morning.

All the eight deceased were passengers of the ill-fated bus. Around 12 people were injured in the accident, who were rushed to the hospital.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Chakresh Mishra, who is on the spot, said that eight bodies have been recovered but still the toll could increase as several people are critically injured.

The SP said that dense fog was the reason behind the accident. The bus with around 40 passengers was going to Aligarh from Moradabad when it hit the gas tanker during overtaking of another vehicle.
