India records 22,065 fresh nCoV cases in 24 hrs

New Delhi, Dec 15 (UNI) India continues to register a downward trend in the fresh COVID-19 cases with 22,065 people being tested positive in the last 24 hrs, according to the Union Health Ministry’s update on Tuesday.

With this, country’s coronavirus tally has risen to 99,06,165.

The death toll too has mounted to 1,43,709 after 354 people lost their lives, the government data added.

The active caseload of the pandemic, however, witnessed a drop by 12,766 since Monday, and presently stands at 3,39,820 cases.

Meanwhile, 34,477 patients have recovered in the past 24 hours, pushing the total recoveries in India to 94,22,636.

According to the ICMR, 15,55,60,655 cumulative samples have been tested for COVID-19 till date in the country.

The official statistics pegged the overall active cases at 3.43 per cent, discharged at 95.12 per cent and fatalities at 1.45 per cent.
