Man killed in road accident in Kupwara

Srinagar, Dec 2 (UNI) An 80-year-old man was killed in a road accident in north Kashmir district of Kupwara, official sources said here on Wednesday.

They said an unidentified scooty hit an elderly man, identified as Mangloo Khatan, at Lolab in Kupwara on late on Tuesday evening. “The elderly man was critically injured in the accident,” they said, adding the wounded was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed.

They said after completing all the legal and medical formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his relatives for last rites. “Police has registered a case and initiated investigation into the incident,” they added.
