Over 30 feared drown in river Ganga in Bhagalpur

Bhagalpur, Nov 5 (UNI ) Over 30 people were feared drown when a country made boat capsized

in River Ganga near in Tintanga village under Gopalpur police station here on Thursday.

Officer in charge of the police station Kunal Chakraborty said here that nearly 40 people were

crossing the river to reach the other side for agricultural purpose.

The people had boarded the boat at Darshan Manjhi bank of the river near Tintanga village.

He said that the boat capsized mid stream due to overloading.

Mr Chakravarti said that 8 people swam to safety. The local people fished out body of a

woman who has been identified as Sunaina Devi of Tintanga village .

Senior officials were camping at the spot. Diverse have been pressed into service to trace

the missing people.

A team of state district response force ( SDRF) was also assisting in the search operation .
