Covid-19 Claims 7 Lives, J&K Toll 285

Srinagar, July 23 (GNS): Kashmir valley on Thursday reported seven more deaths attributed to covid-19, taking the fatality count due to the virus in Jammu and Kashmir to 285.

Among the deaths which occurred at SKIMS include 50-year-old male from Khaniyar Srinagar. He was admitted on July 21 and diagnosed as “T2DM with B/l CAP with ARDS” and died at 11:30 a.m. today, they said.

The second one was an elderly man from Batamaloo Srinagar and he died at 1:38 p.m. with cause of death being cardiopulmonary arrest.

“He was admitted on July 14. He was a known case of hypertension and had bilateral CAP and type 1 RF,” a senior doctor at SKIMS told GNS, adding, “the patient was in surgical observation ward.”

The third one was a 52-year-old female from Zoonimar Srinagar. “He was diagnosed with B/L CAP and died at 09:10 a.m. on Wednesday. The patient’s sample was taken on July 22 and came out to be Covid positive today,” the doctor said.

The other one was 62-year-old woman from Saimoh Tral who was admitted on July 12 and was diagonised with Renal Disorder and Diabeties. “She tested Covid positive subsequently and passed away today,” the doctor added.

Among other deaths include a 40-year-old from Chinkral Mohalla, Habba Kadal, a 53-year-old, a resident of Nawa Kadal Srinagar and a 63- year-old old female from Shopian who died at SMHS hospital. So far 265 deaths were reported in Kashmir and 20 in Jammu division
