Govt To Take Call On Extended Lockdown On Tuesday

Srinagar, May 18 (GNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Government will take a call on Tuesday regarding the fresh phase of lockdown extended by the end of this month across India.

In an order issued here, Chief Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam, who is the Chairperson of State Executive Committee, said that guidelines and instructions already in force in the J&K during lockdown 3.0 issued on May 3 will continued till May 19 when the Government will make detailed assessment of the situation and take the call on fresh phase of the lockdown and the guidelines by the Ministry of Home Affairs, government of India.

The fresh guidelines released by the MHA require State and UT Governments to delineate Red, Green and Orange Zones based on their assessment and prohibit or regulate such other activities or impose restrictions as deemed necessary.

The order by BVR Subrahmanyam said that it will require detailed assessment of the spread of COVID-19 in Jammu and Kashmir, according to global news service.

“In exercise of the powers conferred under section 24 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, the undersigned (BVR Subrahmanyam) in (the) capacity as chairman of the State Executive Committee here by order that the guidelines/instructions issued vide order …dated 03. 05.2020 shall continue to remain valid till 19.05.2020.
