DM Ganderbal urges people to download ‘Aarogya Setu’ app*

Gamdebal, April 23: District Magistrate, Ganderbal Shafqat Iqbal today urged the people of the district to download “Aarogya Setu” mobile application in their mobile phones for important information to keep themselves safe from coronavirus infection.

DM said this during the meeting with the district officers and officials from health department to brief them about the Aarogya setu application to fight against COVID-19.

On the occasion, the DM directed that all the government employees shall fill the correct particulars while answering the questions while downloading the app and shall further facilitate the downloading of the app by others in their families and friend circle.

DM informed that Aarogya setu application is an important step to fight against COVID-19 and it provides important information regarding coronavirus. After downloading the COVID-19 tracking app it will let users know about the zone they are in and will guide accordingly.

He said that whenever a person come in contact or even in surrounding of any COVID-19 positive person, this app will notify or alert him/her.

Moreover, it is a tool for self-testing through questionnaire and in case someone’s answer suggest COVID-19 symptoms, the information will be sent to the government through Artificial Intelligence and the data will then help the government to take timely steps and initiate the isolation procedure, if necessary besides the users will be alerted about it.

DM Informed that District Administration has roped in PRIs, councilors and other field workers who are in the field to outreach the public in their respective jurisdictions for awareness/promoting the installation of the Aarogya Setu App on priority basis besides CSCs are activated to help the people install Aarogya Setu App on their smart phones, he added.
