Expedite screening in Red zones: DM Ganderbal

4000 masks distributed in Red zone areas

GANDERBAL, APRIL 09: The District Magistrate (DM), Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal, today directed the surveillance teams deployed in Red zone areas of the district to expedited the screening of all inhabitants of these areas to break the chain of covid-19 virus.

The DM stated this while visiting Guzhama and Waskura, which were declared Red zone villages after two positive cases were reported in Guzhama.

The SSP Ganderbal, Khalil Poswal and ADM, Ganderbal, Farooq Ahmad Baba accompanied the DM.

During the visit 4000 masks were handed over to the PRIs for door to door distribution among the locals. The DM assured the PRIs that District Administration will provide more stitched masks as per requirement for the red zone areas.

The DM instructed the Police personnel and Revenue officials to enforce restrictions in Red Zone Areas in letter and spirit.

While appreciating the role of surveillance teams, he urged them to conduct door to door screening of people residing in Red zones expeditiously while following guidelines.

He urged PRIs to identify persons who might have come in contact with the positive cases in the Red zone areas so that necessary action is initiated in larger interest of the public.

He asked the officials to follow proper guidelines while dealing with the evolving corona virus situation in the district.

To prevent the spread of the virus, the District Administration has intensified its efforts and fumigation drives have been carried out in the Red zone areas of the district.
