Police arrests 30 persons for defying Govt orders in Handwara, Srinagar

Srinagar, April 08 (GNS): Acting tough against the violators of Government prohibitory orders, Handwara and Srinagar Police have arrested 30 persons and seized 06 vehicles for defying the restriction orders imposed by government in view of Covid-19.

In Handwara, Police Station Qalamabad have arrested 11 persons and seized one vehicle for violating prohibitory orders imposed u/s144 CrPC. Case FIR No. 24/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in PS Qalamabad against the violators. While Police Station Vilgam have arrested 05 persons and registered a case vide FIR No. 27/2020 under relevant sections of law for violating the prohibitory orders over Coronavirus. Similarly, Police Station Kralgund have arrested 11 persons and seized 05 Vehicles for violating prohibitory orders imposed by District Magistrate u/s 144 CrPC. Case FIR No. 33/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in PS Vilgam. Investigations in the cases have been initiated.

In Srinagar, Police have arrested 03 persons in the jurisdiction of Police Post Rangreth for defying the restriction orders imposed by government in view of Covid-19. Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Sadder and further investigation into the cases has been initiated.

Police have once again requested the general public to follow the restrictions imposed by Government in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and those who are violating the restriction orders will be dealt strictly.
