Army soldier shoots self dead in Bandipora of north Kashmir

Bandipora, April 05:

An army soldier allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself dead with his service rifle in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Sunday.

Reports reaching GNS said Sepoy Satendra Kumar Tomar of Murena MP shot himself while he was on duty at 14 RR camp in Bandipora at wee hours of Sunday.

Soon after the incident, his colleagues rushed to the spot and found him lying in a pool of blood, they said.

A police officer also confirmed the incident to GNS and said a case has been registered in this regard and further investigation have been taken up.

The officer said it was not immediately known what forced the soldier to take the extreme step. (GNS)
