Redwani man succumbs at GMC Anantnag

Srinagar, March 27: A 25-year-old man died in a hospital at south Kashmir after he was fired upon by unknown gunmen on Friday evening at Redwani area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

A police officer told GNS that the suspected militants fired upon Mehraj-Ud-Din Bhat son of Mohd Akbar Bhat at Redwani this evening.

Bhat, an auto driver by profession suffered serious bullet wounds and was shifted to PHC Qaimoh for treatment.

A doctor at PHC Qaimoh told GNS that the man had suffered five bullet wounds in his arms and legs. Bhat was referred to GMC Anantnag for specialized treatment.

However, the injured later succumbed to injuries at GMC Anantnag. Medical Superintendent of GMC Anantnag Dr Majeed Mehrab also confirmed the death.

Soon after the incident, the officer said, the security forces launched a hunt to nab the assailants. (GNS)
