Police arrests 14 persons for violation of prohibitry orders u/s 144 CrPC in Ganderbal and Handwara

Srinagar, 25th March, CNS: Continuing action against violators of prohibitory orders issued by Government u/s 144 CrPC, Police have arrested 14 persons and also seized two vehicles for defying the restriction orders over COVID-19.

According to a police press release issued to CNS, Ganderbal Police have arrested 04 shopkeepers found violating the Government orders issued u/s 144 CrPC in two separate actions. Among them two shopkeepers were arrested by PS Safapora and two were arrested by PS Kangan.

Cases under relevant sections of law stands registered at concerned police stations and initiated investigation.

While as Handwara Police have arrested 10 persons for defying prohibitry orders and seized 02 vehicles in separate actions across Handwara. Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at concerned police stations and investigation taken up.

Police have once again requested the general public to follow the restrictions imposed by District Magistrates in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and those who are violating the restrictions will be dealt strictly.
