Jammu Police starts ‘We Care’ campaign to provide essential goods at doorsteps

Jammu, Mar 25 (UNI) Amid lock down to prevent the spread of coronavirus, Jammu Police on Wednesday started a campaign named ”We Care” and deliver essential goods to the homes of the general public.
Jammu Police has also established a help desk for this facility.
In order to implement social distancing and lock down strictly, Jammu Police has started a campaign named as “We Care” in Bishnah and Ranbir Singh Pura Police Stations.
Police have also prepared special helpdesks in these police stations in outskirts of Jammu, through which helpline number, the general public could get essential items like medicines, fruits and vegetables through police at their doorstep.
Police after seeking location of the person on phone, get list of goods required, deliver them to the people at doorsteps.
The police claimed that the move has reduced the movement of people in these two areas on the streets, which was helping to prevent the infection and implementing social distancing.
However, locals have welcomed this initiative of police to reduce gathering of people so that social distancing can be accepted by all to prevent the spread of the disease.
The general public claimed that due to this initiative of the police, people are not coming out their house, there is less crowd in the markets which can prevent the infection of corona.
Police has taken this initiative as an experiment in these two police stations, the results of which have been very satisfactory and the same exercise was to be followed in other police stations.
