Infosys employee tests positive in Pune, campus sanitized

Pune, Mar 23: After a female employee of an IT giant Infosys in Pune tested positive for Covid-19, the company sanitized and fumigated the entire campus.
The employee was one of the contacts of an Anganwadi worker, who tested positive a few days ago.
After her reports came, the sprawling campus of Infosys in Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park in Hinjawadi, Pune, is being comprehensively sanitized and fumigated as a precautionary measure.
The three buildings have been closed and employees have been asked to home-quarantine themselves.
In an email sent to the employees, the company stated, ‘We are writing to let you know that a positive case of COVID-19 was detected among one of our employees in Pune, today. While we are providing all support to the concerned employee, we are also working with the health authorities on contact tracing as well as subsequent actions needed.”
The company said the persons who came in her contact was asked to self-quarantine and take all measures.
“To avoid unnecessary panic, only those who have been identified as potential contacts have been communicated with and advised of next steps they need to take (administering self-quarantine for 14 days at home) and other measures communicated by the govt health advisory. Also, the entire campus is being comprehensively sanitized and fumigated as a precautionary measure. As you already know, the zoning guidelines would help us in limiting the required actions to the building or zone concerned. We will be closing SDB 1, SDB 4 and FC 1 for necessary fumigation and sanitisation for the next 48 hours (until Tuesday evening). We will share separate and comprehensive communication with the employees working out of these buildings,” it read.
“We would like to reassure you that as and when we have additional information, we will keep you updated. We understand that these are testing times and you may be concerned. We are taking all possible steps to ensure a completely sanitized work environment that prioritizes employee safety. We also request you to refrain from believing in or spreading any information that is hear say/rumors via any of the social media channels. We request your support to ensure we handle this situation with utmost responsibility,” it added.
“If any action is needed from you, you will be contacted directly by the company or by local health authorities and you are requested to follow their instructions for tests or self-quarantine as advised,” it concluded.
