Chicken sale banned due to Bird flu scare in Chamarajanagara District of K’taka

Chamarajanagara, Mar 18 : Deputy Commissioner Dr Ravi has banned sale of chicken in the district as a precautionary measure to prevent spread of bird flu, which has become rampant in the neighbouring Mysuru distirct.
According to a press statement issued here on Wednesday, “In a bid to contain the spread of bird flu in the Chamarajanagar district from Mysuru, chicken sale and transportation has been banned Until further notice.”
The Health Department has been instructed to set up a special team to check poultry transportation at check posts throughout the district and to open a 24×7 dispensary in all Taluks in the District.
