COVID-19 : Colleges, Schools, malls in UT to remain closed till Mar 31 : CM

Puducherry, Mar 17 : Chief Minister V Narayanasamy on Tuesday said colleges, schools, malls and cinema theaters in the Union Territory will remain closed till March 31 as a precautionary measure to deal with COVID-19.
Talking to news persons after a high level meeting to review measures to check the spread of the virus here, Mr Narayanasamy said though there are no positive cases reported in UT, there is a need for keeping vigil taking into account the situation prevailing within and outside the country.
Sunday Bazaar would not be allowed to function for the time being, he said, adding that the closure of liquor outlets would be decided in a couple of days.
The government has requested Chennai, Kannur, Kozhikode and Hyderabad Airport authorities to inform about foreign nationals travelling to Puducherry, Mr Narayansamy said.
