Delay hits construction of school building in Budgam

Srinagar, March 08: The residents of Daharmuna area of central Kashmir’s Budgam Sunday expressed resentment against government for failing to construct a building for a local high school.

They said that Government Girls Middle School Darharmuna was upgraded to government high school in 2016 but due to non availability of land the construction was delayed.

Ali Mohammad Peer, a local said they have given the land in the previous year to construct the school building but nothing has been done so far.

He alleged that government was delaying the construction.

Another local, Adil Sadiq said due to delay in school up gradation, the students are facing problems. “Despite repeated attempts to concerned officials, things have remained unchanged on ground,” he said.

A senior official at School Department told JKNS that an amount of 96 lakh has been approved for school building.

“19 lakh has been approved for filling of land site. The new estimate is under process,” he said
