Horticulture Kashmir organises orchardists’ conference

Srinagar, Dec 23: Director Horticulture Kashmir organised an orchardists’ conference on Kisan Divas at Horticulture complex Lalmandi, here today.

Director Horticulture Kashmir Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, Officers and farmers participated in the conference.

Highlighting the importance of Horticulture sector, the Director instructed the officers to aware fruit growers about the latest techniques of fruit cultivation and government schemes being implemented to boost the sector.

The Director instructed the officers to identify small and marginal orchardists which would be covered under High Density Plantation (HDP) programme. He said that the Government is taking steps for bringing an area of 10000 hectares under the programme in three years.

On the occasion, the Director distributed mementos as well certificates of appreciation among the progressive farmers.
