Vaishno Devi chopper service remains suspended for day 3 in fog-hit Trikuta hills

Jammu, Dec 14 (UNI) The chopper service from Katra to Sanjhi Chat for Vaishno Devi pilgrims on Saturday remained suspended for third straight day owing to fog in view of rains and fresh snowfall in Trikuta Hills in Katra town of Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to an official, the ropeway service from Bhawan to Bhairon Ghati, was also suspended but the Yates is smoothly moving on both traditional and new tracks.

Rains lashed the Trikuta Hills on Friday followed by fresh spell of snowfall. The Shrine Board staff deployed along track, are guiding pilgrims to remain alert and watchful while performing pilgrimage.

“Chopper service will resume as soon as weather improves,” he added.

Earlier season’s first snowfall was recorded in first week of November.
