First logistics hub in eastern India to be set up Bengal

Kolkata, :  The first logistics hub in eastern India would be set up in Bengal.
According to State Finance Minister Dr Amit Mitra at the two-day-long business-to-tourism sessions organised by the Confederation of West Bengal Trade Associations, the total trade transaction conducted between India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan amounts to $US1,000 crore annually.
This should be increased to $US1,500 crore annually in the next three years, said Dr Mitra at the conclave through video conferencing.
He said Bengal is well on its way to becoming the place for a major logistics hub in the country.
Flipkart has already created a detailed project report for its logistics hub in Kalyani, where 10,000 youth would get jobs.
