BJP Law makers on dharna near Gandhi Statue

Bengaluru, :  Accusing that the ruling JD(S)-Congress government for misusing the office of the Assembly Speaker, BJP MLAs, led by opposition leader B S Yeddyurappa staged a dharna on the pedestal of the statue of the Mahathma Gandhi at Vidhana Soudha on Wednesday.
The BJP law makers accompanied by former Deputy Chief ministers R Ashok and K S Eshwarappa and more than 100 MLAs and MLCs held a sit-in dharna protesting against the alleged misuse of the office of the Speaker by the ruling combine.
The MLAs raised slogans against Chief minister H D Kumaraswamy and the Congress leaders, who they alleged that were trying to coerce the rebel Congress MLAs, to change their mind.
Earlier speaking to newsmen Yeddyurappa said the party delegation will be meeting Governor Vajubhai Vala later in the day, and submit a memorandum about the highhanded attitude of the Congress leaders on the rebel MLAs.
Once again reiterating that BJP has nothing to do with the decisions of the rebel Congress and the JD(S) MLAs, to resign from the Assembly, Yeddyurappa said that “If the situation arises we will shoulder the responsibility on forming the government”.
Meanwhile the KPCC president Dinesh Gundu Rao, who also spoke to newsmen charged that the BJP leaders were directly involved in the efforts of weaning away of the party MLAs and holding them in a Hotel.
Maintaining that the ruling JD(S)-Congress government, enjoys majority, the KPCC president said that “Assembly session would begin on Friday, and if the Opposition BJP failed to bring a no confidence motion, we will move a “Motion of Confidence in the house”.
He said BJP wants a single party rule in the country and Prime Minister was acting like a dictator and want a ‘single man’ rule in the country. This was the reason the saffron party was trying to destabilise the non-BJP ruled state governments including the coalition government in Karnataka.
