Agra accident: Prez, VP express grief

New Delhi,:  President Ram Nath Kovind and Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu on Monday expressed condolence at the bus accident near Agra in Uttar Pradesh, which claimed at least 29 lives.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, the President said, ‘Sad to learn about tragic bus accident on the Yamuna Expressway in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. State government taking all steps to help affected people. My condolences to bereaved families; wishing an early recovery to those injured’.
The Vice-President said, ‘Deeply saddened to learn about the loss of lives in a bus accident on Yamuna Expressway near Agra. Condolences to bereaved family members and wishes for the speedy recovery of the injured.’
At least 29 people were killed and several others injured, when a double-decker bus fell into Jharna Nullah (canal) on Yamuna Expressway, on early Monday morning.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Bablu Kumar said the bus was going to Delhi from Lucknow, when it fell into the Jharna Nullah under Ethamadullah police station area.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has constituted a three-member high level team to probe into the factors, which led to the mishap.
