Quick response of Delhi Police ERV saves woman’s life

New Delhi, :  Responding in no time to an emergency call, Delhi Police ERV team has saved a woman’s life who was hanging from a ceiling fan in South Delhi’s Sangam Vihar.
As per police, a PCR call was received on Wednesday regarding hanging at B-250, Sangam Vihar, which was immediately marked further to Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV) in the area.
The ERV team, including ASI Sunder Lal (IC ERV) and HC Harish, immediately reached the spot and saw through grilled window that a woman was hanging with ceiling Fan on 3rd floor and her two children, 16-year-old girl and eight-year-old son, were allegedly locked by her in the adjacent room.
Wasting no time, police immediately arranged for a welder to cut open the grill in six minutes, cut down the garment ‘chunni’ tied around the throat and rushed the 36-year-old woman to trauma centre.
The woman, identified as Asha Devi, is under treatment.
Her husband was on his job in Gurugram when the incident took place and the third child was in school.
The quick action of the police staff helped in saving a human life, who is a mother of three children.
