IAF Tejas’ fuel tank falls on agricultural land near Coimbatore

New Delhi, :  Fuel tank of Indian Air Force (IAF) fighter aircraft LCA Tejas fell in an agricultural land near Irugur on the outskirts of Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu on Tuesday.
As per locals, the incident happened around 0800 hrs near Irugur, near Sulur air base during a training flight.
The Sulur Air Force Station is an air base of the Indian Air Force located at Sulur near Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
In a similar incident on June 27, an IAF pilot dropped the aircraft’s fuel tanks and small practice bombs after one of the engines failed due to a bird hit.
The IAF Jaguar pilot jettisoned fuel tanks of his aircraft and managed to land back safely at the Ambala air base in Haryana.
