14 killed, one lynched in separate incidents in Bihar

Patna, : At least 14 people were killed in separate mishaps and another
person lynched in Patna, Nawada, Samastipur and Nalanda districts during the last
12 hours.
In the state capital, a car driver was beaten to death when his speeding vehicle
claimed lives of three children in Kumharar locality under Agamkuan police station
area today.
Police said here that the car hit four people on the roadside in Kumharar locality
when its driver lost control over his vehicle due to high speed resulting in the death
of three of them on the spot. The another person was also seriously injured in the
mishap.
Sources said local people assembled at the spot and dragged out car driver and
another occupant from the vehicle. The car driver was badly beaten by the mob
leading to his death while another person also sustained serious injuries in the
assault.
The deceased has been identified as Raju (11), Rohit (13) and Harendra (9). The
injured had been admitted to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH).
According to a report from Nawada, four people including father and son were
electrocuted and 18 others sustained burn injuries when their bus came in contact
with live high voltage electric wire near Yogia Asthan in Kalna forest under Kauakol
police station area in Nawada district today.
Police said here that three people were killed on the spot and 18 others injured
when the bus came in contact with overhead high voltage electric wire in its driver`s
attempt to give side to an auto rickshaw. Sources said that one more person died
during treatment at Nawada Sadar Hospital.
Police said around 60 people from Madpo village in Lalpur Panchayat under
Kauakol police station area were on way to Jhamuraj Asthan in Vatia forest of
neighbouring Jamui district for performing worship when the mishap took place.
Police said the injured had been admitted to Nawada Sadar Hospital where the
condition of six of them was serious. Several bus passengers saved their lives by
jumping out from the vehicle. The deceaded had been identified as Sanjay Sao (45),
his son Saurav Kumar (15) and Yugal Rai alias Matar Rai (35). The identity of fourth
deceased was yet unknown.
