Rahul pays tribute to Birsa Munda

New Delhi, :  Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Sunday paid tribute to great freedom fighter Birsa Munda.
Mr Gandhi tweeted in Hindi, “Shanti Naman on the death anniversary of the ‘Veer Birsa Munda’
I pay tribute to tribal honour, autonomy and culture youth icon.”
He also posted a postal stamp carrying picture of Birsa Munda and tribal community with his tribute meassage.
Munda was born on November 15, 1875, at Ulihatu in Bengal Presidency, now in the Khunti district of Jharkhand, on a Thursday, and hence named after that day, according to the then prevalent Munda custom.
Mr Gandhi, who was on a three-day tour to his Lok Sabha constituency Wayanad in Kerala, concluded his road show by around 1230 hrs and left for Karipur airport, from where he will fly back to the National Capital by 1400 hrs.
