Mau (UP) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday criticised BSP chief Mayawati for seeking votes for a rape accused party candidate from Ghosi and appealed to the women of Poorvanchal to teach these parties supporting the criminal a lesson in the May 19 elections.
“SP-BSP has given ticket to an absconder in a rape case. SP has this history in UP, people know, but Behen ji will you seek votes for such candidates?,” he said, while adding that a few days ago, a Dalit girl was raped in Rajasthan but still the BSP is supporting the Congress government knowing that it tried to cover up the incident.
“I urge the women to vote against such anti-women parties,” he said, while addressing an election meeting here.
The BSP candidate from Ghosi Atul Rai was on a run after a rape case was lodged against him. As the Allahabad High Court had refused to give by interim bail, he has moved the Supreme Court on this matter.
Mr Modi also raked up the triple talaq issue saying that these ‘Mahamilavati’ forces have derailed the move of his government to give respect to the Muslim women facing the trauma of triple talak.
He said, ‘The ‘mahamilavatis’ who were talking about removing Modi until a month ago are now nervous and have started abusing me.
“The SP-BSP alliance saying that the deal was brokered at the high-command level in an air-conditioned room in Lucknow but party workers are not able to work together and are clashing every day,” he said, adding that these political parties are now treating these particular caste as their slaves.
“We had taught them a lesson in 2014 Lok Sabha polls and again in the 2017 Assembly elections of how to leave the caste politics, but they have not learnt any lesson and now again they will be treated in the same line in this elections too,” he said.
The PM said the only motive of the SP-BSP was to grab power at any cost and a weak or ‘Khichri’ government at the Centre will benefit them the most as they can blackmail it from time to time to protect the interest of their family members who are involved in corruption and other irregularities.
His only aim, the PM said, is to make a strong and efficient government to take the country into the world of development in the 21st century.
He also narrated his aim to make the life of the poor easy and comfortable by giving them house, free power, gas, health and other basic amenities.
The PM will address two meetings at Chandauli and Robertsganj in the state on Thursday.
