Karnataka Dy CM decrees JDS State President statement against Congress leader Siddaramaiah

Bengaluru,  :  Taking strong exception to a statement by Coalition partner JDS Karnataka President H Vishwanath alleging that performance of Congress Legislative Party (CLP) leader Siddaramaiah during his tenure as Chief Minister was ‘Nil’, Congress leader and Deputy Chief Minister Dr G Parameshwara warned him against repeating such remarks in future.
Speaking to newsmen here on Monday, Dr Parameshwara, expressing his dismay over Vishwanath, who had
dubbed the achievement of the former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah as ‘Nil’ and hence people voted out the Congress in the 2018 Assembly elections, said that “since we had to work together to complete the five-year term in the office Vishwanath should desist from making such statements”.
Stating that the Congress decided to join hands with the JDS to keep at bay the communal BJP, he said that “Vishwanath’s statement will create more confusions within the alliance partners and also sends a wrong signal to the public”.
Maintaining that the differences, if any, within the Alliance partners should be sorted out through talks, he said that “by making public statement, things will get more complicated”.
Referring to JD(S) Rajya Sabha member Kupendra Reddy’s suggestion to Congress to take its own course of action, Dr Parameshwara said that “we have not formed alliance with Kupendra Reddy but with JDS party after talks with former Prime Minister H D Devegowda, who is also National President of that Party and H D Kumaraswamy, who was the then State President”.
